Drill Machine (Volume-2) SolidWorks 2014 Tutorial

Serial No. 25-B

Drill Machine (Volume-2) SolidWorks 2014 Tutorial

This Solidworks Assembly tutorial which also covers topics from Solidworks Basics like sketching and part modelling, displays a creation process of an assembly named ‘Drill Machine’.
After modelling it we will be able to create animation of the model .But these things are not displayed in the same video, to know this you will have to watch the related video tutorial. The links are mentioned below.
The model contains 17 part which consists Tool Box parts also. First we create the base frame then later each component is created individually with no relation to each other which you can term Bottom-up designing process. In this process first parts are designed individually then inserted into the assembly and setup by using the mates. When the parts are modified the changes also appear in the assembly.
It means by watching it, lots of solidworks learning can be achieved… the video is quite long so it is split into two parts.

Basic Techniques-Loft Features (SolidWorks 2014)

Serial No. 9

Basic Techniques-Loft Features (SolidWorks 2014)

We have added the audio on this video so that you can understand it this video more easily. In this Basic Tutorial of SolidWorks we will demonstrate the utilization of part modelling feature named ‘Loft’. This feature is used, when we want to create a solid by joining more than one closed profile. Sometimes optional rails and points are used that help in controlling the final outcome. The aforesaid feature is utilized quite an often while designing parts. This tutorial is picked up from the default tutorials that comes up with the software. You can find its written version under Basic Techniques → Loft Features.
Following is the description that is mentioned in the original Tutorial..

In this lesson, you create a Hammer Head using loft features.

A loft is a base, boss, or cut created by connecting multiple cross sections, or profiles.

This lesson demonstrates the following:

  • Creating planes
  • Sketching, copying, and pasting the profiles
  • Creating a solid by connecting the profiles (lofting)
  • Adding a flex feature to bend the model
