In this SolidWorks Tutorial we will describe how to build the model of ‘Extension Spring 3.873’. It is a part modelling tutorial, it will cover the following topics.

• Creating 2D Sketches on different Planes of the model.
• Use the sketch constraints with help of Add Relation tool that are applied on during sketch creation.
• Add the Global Variables by using Equations tool and relate the global variables used in 2D Sketches, Work Planes and the helix curve. 
• Use feature commands such as Helix/Spiral curve tool, Sweep tool and the Revolve tool.
• Use the Helix/Spiral feature for making the compression spring this feature contains a circle, the diameter of the circle controls the starting diameter of the helix.
• Use the sweep feature with the basis of circle and helix curve.
